DFW Clean Cities
When you're doing what's right, you get noticed.
Doing the right thing isn't always easy. That's why we wanted to make sure we recognized fleets that went the extra mile to reduce petroleum and improve the air all North Texans breathe.
Gold Fleets: City of Euless, City of Southlake, Dallas Area Rapid Transit
Silver Fleets: City of Carrollton, City of Coppell, City of Dallas, City of Denton, Denton County, DFW Airport, Town of Flower Mound, City of Irving, City of Lewisville, City of Mesquite, City of North Richland Hills
Bronze Fleets: Tarrant County, Trinity Metro, City of Watauga, Town of Addison, City of Richardson, City of Plano, Denton ISD
How Does My Fleet Get Recognized?
Fleet Recognition is based upon our DFW Clean Cities Annual Survey. Each year we re-evaluate our scoring structure so that our fleets are scored according to certain criteria highlighted by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). For more information see the point structure our scoring committee followed for last year’s recognition awards.
Each fleet can earn up to 100 points, based on information reported and knowledge that Coalition staff have of fleet activities/initiatives.
Gold: 80 - 100
Silver: 56 - 79
Bronze: 39 - 55
In order to be recognized, fleets must firstly have adopted the Clean Fleet Policy. Fleets then must excel in each of the categories listed above and not simply focus on one area. One of the easiest places to lose points is to simply forgo answering certain questions and leaving sections blank.
Recognized fleets will receive an award, stickers for their vehicles, electronic versions of sticker graphics for the web, and a paper weight (gold only).
Congratulations to the 2019 Fleet Recognition Award Winners!
