Project Overview
Supported by an award from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles (CHDV) Grant, NCTCOG seeks to form a task force of regional experts to assist in creation of a workforce development plan to facilitate successful adoption of zero emission vehicles (ZEV) in North Texas.
NTxZEV Task Force
Goals of the Task Force:
- Identify regional roadblocks to ZEV adoption
- Analyze labor needs
- Identify priority investments to address training gaps
Task Force Expectations:
- Provide expertise and insight
- Attend periodic meetings
- Promote and distribute workforce materials

Original equipment manufacturers, vehicle dealerships, mechanics, and fleet managers, or other entities seeking to employ mechanics to work on ZEV are invited to attend the Listening Session 1: What are the Barriers to a Trained Workforce for Zero Emission Vehicles? This Listening Session is being held to gather input on regional roadblocks which need to be addressed to prepare for ZEV adoption. This input will guide the spending of $1.3 million from the North Texas Zero Emission Vehicle Project.
