DFW Clean Cities Meetings

Following public health guidance during the coronavirus pandemic, DFWCC/NCTCOG offices are closing and all hosted face-to-face events are being postponed/cancelled until further notice. We will continue to provide notices and updates of major developments via our email notices and newsletters, and will be soliciting feedback from our stakeholders on a few key items in the next week or two. If you do not already receive our emails, sign up for the "Clean Cities Newsflash" here.

Multi-port, 1+MW Charging System for Medium- and Heavy-Duty EVs

In this webinar, EV experts from HDR and Argonne National Laboratory will review the West Coast Clean Transit Corridor Initiative objectives and status. MD/HD electric vehicle charging usage modeling activities will be covered along with possible scenarios for upgrading existing truck stops to accommodate wide spread EV trucking adoption. Adjacent technology and deployment effects of zero emission truck requirements such as the CARB Advanced Clean Trucks Rule and CA transport refrigeration unit (TRU) zero emission programs (shore power) can lead to leveraged investments for EV charging and shore power for overnight parking. The session will also look ahead to near future charging technology developments headed to pilot deployment in the coming year.

The webinar will take place from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

National Drive Electric Week

Please join us virtual National Drive Electric Week event out of Dallas.  We'll have EV owner videos--some about powering up with solar electricity--an EV 101 Pioneers Panel featuring Plug In America co-founders with info on going electric for the first time, a video from Chevrolet produced exclusively for our event, and other highlights, all moderated by long-time EV activists and owners Alexandra Paul (a.k.a. an original "Baywatch" actress) and Marvin Campbell. We'll even display a Tesla Cybertruck recreated out of recycled plastic. We're extra excited to announce a historic discussion titled, "Birth of the EV Movement--And Where We Must Go Now," reuniting none other than Chris Paine, director of "Who Killed the Electric Car?" Chelsea Sexton, the documentary's main figure and one of the world's top EV experts, and other early activists from the film without whom we are sure EVs wouldn't be commonplace today. Come for the fun, stay for the history and knowledge. Virtual Workshop takes place from 1:00 - 4:00pm CT.

Preparing Utilities for EVs

EV experts from Entergy and AEP will share their best practices, lessons learned, and forecast in order to help utilities that are just getting started with developing their own proactive programs for EVs and infrastructure. The most successful electrification programs implemented by utilities have the guidance of a strategic plan, make the customer experience a priority, and incorporate standards and interoperability throughout the system.

This webinar will take place from 10:00am - 11:30am.

Electric Vehicle Fleet Manager Roundtable

For National Drive Electric Week, DFWCC is hosting an open discussion-style meeting on October 1st at 10:30am - 12:00pm to give fleet managers from local governments interested in EVs an opportunity to learn from their peers who have already incorporated EVs into their fleets. If you are interested in participating and have not yet received an invitation, please let us know at cleancities@nctcog.org

Using Clean Cities Tools to Implement Electric Vehicle (EV) and EV Infrastructure Goals

To prepare and accommodate for the growth of EVs, cities have begun including goals for electric vehicles and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). Join DFWCC at this workshop to learn about resources, tools, recommended strategies, and funding opportunities to assist cities in implementing their EV/EVSE goals within your jurisdictional boundaries. This webinar will take place from 2:30pm - 4:00pm
