Dallas Area Rapid Transit

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) serves13 cities in our region covering 700 square miles. DART moves roughly 220,000 Dallas-Fort Worth residents to their destinations every day, either by bus or by 72 miles of available light rail. DART has made strong efforts to invest in CNG (compressed natural gas). In

October of 2009, DART stated that all replacement buses due for Fiscal Year 2010 and beyond would be CNG. Currently, the transit company has a contract for CNG fuel and vehicles worth nearly $300 million. In addition to this, new CNG fueling stations were built to support the now 600 CNG vehicles in the DART fleet.
